I was looking for a decent EDC (Every Day Carry) knife that wouldn’t break the bank. As a parent I also wanted some emergency tools like a seat belt cutter and a window breaking tool. The Smith and Wesson SWFR2S Extreme Ops Knife fits that bill perfectly.
Smith and Wesson SWFR2S Extreme Ops Knife
While cruising Amazon I finally found this knife, the Smith and Wesson SWFR2S Extreme Ops Knife with Coated Tanto Blade and Rubber Coated Handle, Black. It cost me less than $20 and had the features I wanted.
There were some complaints about the rubberized finish wearing off of the handles, but for a $20 knife, I can live with that.
I’ve been carrying this for about a week and I’ll add to this review as time goes on.
I love this knife. I’m on my 2nd one already. The first one didn’t break, I lost it while trying to enter Disney World. It was confiscated by the Security Screeners.
Here’s how much I like this knife: I ordered a replacement using the Amazon Mobile app on my phone, while I was still walking into the park. It was waiting for me when I got home from vacation. Now I was glad I only spent around $20 on a decent quality knife!
I carry this every day. The finish on the handle is scuffed and worn on a few spots around the edges. The blade is still tight, with no wiggle when closed or when locked open. I can still snap this open with a deft move of my wrist. The Smith and Wesson SWFR2S Extreme Ops Knife is still a great budget EDC knife!
